The new qualification at level 2 is a nine unit award comprising five mandatory units and three optional groups of units. In order to gain the full level 2 award, candidates must select and achieve, as a minimum, all the mandatory units together with a selection of units from within option group 1 plus one unit from within option group 3 or, all the mandatory units together with all units within option group 2 plus one unit from within option group 3. An appropriate selection of optional units will allow the candidate to specialise in either ladies or gents hairdressing. |
